Tunisia’s Les Ciments de Bizerte has reported a TND421,000 (US$152,235) net loss in the year ended 31 December 2020, against a TND9.4m net loss in the previous year. Sinai Cement sees net sales rise 34% YoY

Egypt’s Sinai Cement has seen its net loss widen to EGP147.97m (US$9.45m) in the first quarter of 2021, compared to EGP105.8m in the year-ago period. However, net sales increased 33.5 per cent YoY to EGP282.63m from EGP211.73m in the 1Q20.

South Valley Cement's net losses narrow in first quarter

Egypt’s South Valley Cement has posted a net loss of EGP35.69m (US$2.28m) during the first quarter of 2021, compared to a net loss of EGP41.39m in the year-ago period. The company’s revenue declined 30 per cent YoY to EGP62.12m from EGP88.75m in the 1Q20.

Dal Machinery & Design completed Bouskoura cement order

Dal Machinery & Design (DMD) has manufactured a 4m diameter kiln outlet seal for LafargeHolcim's Bouskoura cement plant in Morocco. The order was placed in November 2020 and was completed in June 2021. An additional order was placed for a kiln outlet shell and supervision service. The kiln outlet shell was manufactured with a diameter of 4.4m. Delivery was on April 2021 and installation jobs will be performed within June 2021.

Moroccan deliveries up 69% in May

Cement deliveries by members of Morocco’s cement association, APC, were up 68.5 per cent to 882,785t in May 2021 from 523,848t in May 2020, according to data published by the Ministry for Housing and Urbanisation. In the first five months of 2021 total deliveries reached 4,446,117t, representing a 25.4 per cent increase from 4,342,862t in the January-May 2020 period.

Cement deliveries by Moroccan cement producers Asment Temara, Ciments de l’Atlas, Ciments du Maroc and LafargeHolcim Maroc increased by 111.6 per cent YoY to 1.169Mt in April 2021, according to the national cement association, APC. Moroccan cement sales in April saw a 111.6 per cent YoY rise to 1.169Mt when compared with a low base of 0.552Mt in April 2020, according to the country’s cement producers’ association, APC. In the first four months of the year, sales advanced 19.5 per cent to 4.563Mt from 3.819Mt in the 4M20.

Ciments de Bizerte sees 61% rise in 1Q revenues

Tunisia-based Les Ciments de Bizerte advanced its total revenues to TND40.2m (US$14.7m) in the 1Q221, up 61 per cent when compared with TND25m in January-March 2020. The company has seen its domestic sales rise to 194,517t, up 26.5 per cent YoY in January to March 2021.
