Vietnam’s cement market expanded six per cent to 5,199,736t in July 2022 when compared with July 2021, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). VICEM sales advanced by eight per cent YoY to 1,750,212t while other VNCA-affiliated companies reported a 22 per cent hike in deliveries. Total exports from Indonesia declined by 35.5 per cent in June 2022 as the country’s cement producers supplied 665,760t of cement and clinker to overseas destinations, according to the Indonesian cement association, ASI. Dongwu Cement sees revenue fall 26% in 1H22

China's Dongwu Cement  International Ltd has reported revenue of CNY177.8m (US$25.9m) in the first half of 2022, down 25.7 per cent on the same period a year earlier. In terms of gross profit, a loss of CNY13.5m was seen in the 1H22, compared to a profit of CNY45.6m in the 1H21. Cement sales in Indonesia slipped two per cent to 5,438,865 in June 2022 from 5,551,489t in June 2021, according to the Indonesian cement association, ASI. East Indonesia, the country’s smallest market, was the sole province to record an uptick in sales, which increased five per cent YoY to 194,192t in June 2022 from 184,957t. TPI Polene posted a 21 per cent YoY growth in sales in the 2Q22 to THB12.5bn (US$346.2m) and 24 per cent growth in revenues to THB13.6bn, partly thanks to forex gains. Vietnam's Xuan Than Cement to commission Line 3 in October

Vietnamese cement producer Xuan Than Cement is expected to bring online its third line, with a cement capacity of 4.5Mta, at the end of October, according to local media. Upon completion, the production line will increase the company’s total capacity in Ha Nam province to 10Mta. The 2.3Mta Long Thanh project is also expected to be commissioned this year. Cement prices in South Korea will rise for a second time this year, leaving ready-mix concrete producers to find ways to lessen the impact, reports Korea JoongAng Daily.
