There has never been an easy route to accomplishing any significant change for the better, especially when it is on a global scale. It is why, even though we have known since the late 1800s that electric cars are better for the environment, now, in 2024, we are still waiting for the day when all drivers can plug in their vehicles. So much has to happen on so many fronts before a change of such magnitude becomes the norm.

The same can be said about the US cement industry’s goal of reaching carbon neutrality by 2050, if not sooner. To critics, it is the Mount Everest of industrial climbs.
