Italy’s cement needs CCS

The Italian cement association, AITEC, recently published its decarbonisation strategy, highlighting the need to scale up alternative fuels, SCMs and digital efficiency. But achieving net zero by 2050 will require large-scale CCS supported by clear regulations, CBAM enforcement and co-ordinated public-private investment. ICR asked Stefano Gallini, president of AITEC and Italy’s concrete association Federbeton, about the challenges ahead. By ICR Research, UK.
