Latin America, including the Caribbean, produced ~183Mt of cement in 2024. The region benefits from comparatively low clinker factors and increasingly low-carbon power systems, but deeper emissions reductions will require standards reform, reliable alternative-fuel supply chains, plant modernisation, electrification, and CO2 transport and storage infrastructure.
