Cemtech Rome 2017

Cemtech Rome: manufacturing technologies and market insights

Cemtech will return to Rome for the first time in a decade for the forthcoming Cemtech conference and exhibition, to be held on 1-4 October 2017 at the Sheraton Roma Hotel and Conference Center.

The last Cemtech event to be held in Rome in 2006 was one of the most memorable in our history and we look forward to staging another successful meeting this year alongside the spectacle of one of Europe’s grandest cities.

Expect a broad-based, international programme, designed to bring all cement professionals up-to-date on the latest technical advances in cement manufacturing, in addition to timely assessments of worldwide cement markets and industry developments. A special focus on the Mediterranean and north African cement sectors will complement the coverage of activities elsewhere in Europe.

Economica Cement (AITEC)

The conference programme will feature 25 informative presentations covering topical themes and the latest industry analysis. This will be accompanied by Cemtech’s international exhibition and an extensive blend of related activities ranging from workshops to plant tours, with plenty of opportunities to meet and interact with other participants. Of course, given the location, complimentary city tours will be organised for partners, who are also encouraged to attend the Gala Dinner to round off the proceedings.

Cemtech Rome - Parallel Session

Enhancing the visual impact of cement plants
Tuesday, 3 October 2017

1.00 - 12.30

Cemtech Rome’s conference programme will also include a special parallel session on ‘Enhancing the visual impact of cement plants’ on Tuesday, 3 October 2017.  Led by architect Thierry Bogaert (France), the seminar will introduce participants to the concept of industrial architecture and present a framework designed specifically for cement plant owners to identify and plan appropriate measures to enhance the visual impact of a plant. For more information, download an overview of the Seminar Programme.

Plant Tour: Colleferro (Italcementi)

The Cemtech plant tour on Wednesday, 4 October, will be to Italcementi's 1.5Mta Colleferro works. Established in 1919, the plant was the first in Italy to produce pozzolanic hydraulic binders using raw materials from the pozzolan fields in the Colleferro area. Since the start of its operations, the facility, which is located just southeast of Rome, has been regularly upgraded to meet the requirements of both market and surrounding community.

In recent years, the plant’s environmental status has been significantly improved through a number of key initiatives. Environmental improvements at the works have included the installation of an SNCR system for the non-catalytic reduction of NOx emissions as well as a continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS). Moreover, the plant has obtained the ISO 14001 environmental certification.
