HeidelbergCement is expanding production at both of its works in Ghana by 0.65m tonnes per annum. The expansion at the Tema plant should start in the early part of 2011 for completion during the third quarter of 2012. Work on the Takoradi works should start soon after the completion of the work at Tema.
