Of the two Indian group companies, Ambuja Cements increased production by 7.51% for the first eight months to 13.67m tonnes, helped by additional kiln and grinding capacities, but deliveries were down by 6.7% to 12.73m tonnes. For the month of September, however, Ambuja Cements increased shipments by 9.0%, driving a nine-month improvement of 7.4% to 15.13m tonnes. In the case of ACC, cement deliveries experienced a 3.4% reduction to 14.00m tonnes, while production was 3.0% lower at 14.05m tonnes.   

In Bulgaria, Holcim's dispatches in the first half of 2010 dropped by 48% to 212,000 tonnes and the decision has been made to close the smaller Pleven works, acquired from Titan as part of a three-way swap with HeidelbergCement in 2004, by the end of 2011.
