Holcim

ACC Limited, one of Holcim's two main subsidiaries in India, reported a 2.2% reduction in cement production for the month of June, to give a 1.2% reduction for the first six months to 10.94m tonnes. Cement deliveries were 1.6% lower at 10.88m tonnes.

Ambuja Cements, its sister company, reported a 5.9% increase in cement production to 1.70m tonnes and a 6.2% advance in despatches, with the first half numbers showing a 10.1% rise in production to 10.84m tonnes and domestic deliveries being ahead by 9.5% to 10.80m tonnes.

Holcim Romania is expecting a further fall in cement deliveries and turnover this year in the light of a weak economic environment and government austerity measures. The company is planning capital investment in the three cement works and in the Bucharest area of around €20m during the current year.
