Votorantim saw its first quarter turnover decline by 5.9 per cent to BRL6718m (EUR1672m) while the EBITA dropped by 39.8 per cent to BRL845m (EUR210m). The trading profit fell by 42.6 per cent to BRL445m (EUR111m) while the net interest charge rose by 23.9 per cent to BRL497m (EUR124m) and the investment income went from a negative BRL149m to a positive BRL344m, giving a pretax profit 29.8 per cent higher at BRL292m (EUR73m).
