Semen Indonesia - October 2016
Despite missing out on its bid to win shares in Holcim (Lanka) Ltd in Sri Lanka back in July, Semen Indonesia says that it is pushing ahead with its expansion plans throughout the ASEAN region. 2016 will see the commissioning of its new 8000tpd, greenfield plant near Rembang in Central Java, forming part of the company’s plan to target production of up to 100Mta by 2030. This is despite a recent decision by Indonesia’s Supreme Court to cancel an environmental permit for the plant, which is currently 94 per cent complete.
