Intercement’s Argentine subsidiary Loma Negra saw turnover in the first nine months decline by 8.3 per cent to US$613m, while in local currency terms there was a 42.3 per cent increase to ARS15,422m. EBITDA came off by 5.6 per cent to US$160m (ARS4018m, +46.5 per cent), while the net profit dropped by 46 per cent to US$34m (ARS806m, -12.9 per cent). Cement and lime volumes improved by 0.5 per cent to 4.68Mt in Argentina but declined by 4.2Mt in Paraguay to 0.42Mt, giving a virtually unchanged cement volume of 5.10Mt. The aggregates tonnage eased by one per cent to 0.79Mt, but the ready-mixed concrete volume rose by 36.7 per cent to 0.80Mm³.
