Cemex - September 2019

Cemex has supplied more than 15,000m3 of concrete for the reconstruction of the Guajataca Reservoir in Puerto Rico, which sustained significant damage from Hurricane Maria in September 2017. The concrete supplied included high-strength fluid concrete as well as structural concrete. The project, which was carried out over an 11-month period, completing this month, was overseen by the Del Valle Group construction company. The Guajataca Reservoir serves more than 200,000 homes as well as the region’s irrigation system.

Cemex has also recently supplied more than 155,000m3 (170,000 cubic yards) of concrete for the construction of the Chase Center in San Francisco. Around 104,000m3 (114,000 cubic yards) were used for the centre’s 18,000-seater arena with an additional approximately 55,000m3 (60,000 cubic yards) for the foundations, underground support and a nearby office building.
