Asia's concrete boom puts pressure on sustainable sand and gravel supply

Rapid growth in concrete demand across Asia is putting increasing pressure on supplies of sand and gravel, with extraction in some regions outpacing the natural replenishment of river sediments, according to research from Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
