Lamosa raises investment to US$220m for new Mexican tile plant

Mexican ceramics manufacturer Grupo Lamosa is to invest US$220m in a new ceramic wall and floor tile plant in Tlaxcala, Mexico, with construction due to begin in November. The company has revived plans for the facility, increasing the investment from the US$200m originally announced last year. Federico Toussaint Elosúa, chairman and CEO of Grupo Lamosa, said the plant would create around 250 jobs and cover approximately 1.2Mm2.  The project will be developed in phases and will incorporate the latest manufacturing technology, with the aim of improving production efficiency and strengthening Lamosa's competitiveness in the Mexican market. "We have some investments in other countries, but we don't have any acquisition planned at the moment. Rather, we are consolidating our growth, which has been significant and needs to be consolidated," Toussaint said during Expo Pyme 2026.
