FLSmidth has signed a contract worth EUR57m with DG Khan Cement Company Ltd to supply engineering and equipment for a 8500tpd greenfield cement plant in Pakistan. Biberci Insaat has ordered a Loesche LM 56.3+3 clinker grinding VRM for a new cement plant in Konya, in the central Anatolia region of Turkey. Limak Holdings eyes Mozambique entry

Turkish conglomerate Limak Holding says it will invest US$150m in a 2Mta cement factory in Mozambique. Limak chairperson, Nihat Ozdemir, said his firm would create least 500 jobs during the first phase of the factory to be built in the Maputo port area. Limak has major interests in construction, cement, electricity and tourism in Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Albania and Macedonia.

Dangote Cement is reportedly planning to enter the Asian cement market with the construction of a cement plant in Nepal. Quoting Aliko Dangote, Bloomberg reported that Dangote Cement Plc should complete a factory in Nepal by the end of 2017. EPC contract signed for new Limak cement works, Turkey

China's Sinoma International Engineering Co signed a contract on Friday with Turkey's Limak Holding to build a US$155m cement factory in the capital Ankara. The factory will have a capacity to produce 5000ptd of cement, Limak officials said during a signing ceremony for the equipment, procurement and construction (EPC) contract. Construction is expected to take 20 months and Sinoma expects to complete it in the first quarter of 2017.

Kerneos India held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 30,000tpa greenfield calcium aluminate cement plant in the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh (AP). Conch reportedly in discussions for Chelyabinsk plant, Russia

The government of the Chelyabinsk region (Urals) and China's Anhui Conch Cement Co (ACCC) are negotiating the construction of a cement plant, according to Russian news sources. Conch has been provided several plots for assessment, the reports state. According to General Manager Wang Jianchao, a project scheme will be determined in the near future, whether to modernise existing production facilities or build a new at an undeveloped deposits.
