Cement volumes increased by 8.3 per cent to 5.53Mt in the nine month period. Exports, however, were down by 23.09 per cent. The planning commission in Vallejo, California, recently refused Ecocem’s subsidiary, Orcem Americas, permission to build on the city’s waterfront based on environmental concerns. Bangladesh: Meghna Cement Mills to raise capacity12 April 2017, Published under Cement NewsMeghna Cement Mills, part of the Bashundhara Group, plans to increase grinding capacity at its Bangladesh-based plant with the installation of a vertical roller mill. The company, which sells its cement under the King brand, has reportedly signed a contract with FLSmidth for supply of the mill, according to a report by the Daily Star (Bangladesh).
