Colombia: Feb cement sales up 6.1%

Colombia saw a 6.1 per cent YoY rise in cement dispatches in February as 985,300t of the product were delivered, according to DANE, the national statistics office. The largest increases were experienced in Nariño (+52.1 per cent), Bolívar (+37 per cent), Antioquia (+17 per cent) and Bogotá (7.7 per cent). Cement consumption in Spain reached 10.79Mt in 2014, largely stable when compared to the 10.74Mt recorded in 2013, latest figures released by domestic cement association Oficemen show. Peru’s cement market absorbed around 881,360t of cement in December 2014, according to the latest data from the country’s cement association, Asocem. Domestic producers reached an output of 932,603t in the last month of 2014, of which 37,491t of cement were exported as well as 30,014t of clinker. Cement dispatches in Colombia saw a 5.5 per cent YoY expansion to 1.09Mt in October 2014, according to the latest data published by Dane, the country’s statistics office. Peru cement sales fall 3.9% in July

Cement dispatches in Peru reached 845,907t in July, representing a 3.9 per cent decline YoY, according to Asocem, the country's cement producers' association. In the year to date, the latest figures reflect a 0.11 per cent increase YoY while output in domestic cement plants edged up 0.66 per cent to nearly 6Mt. Exports in the first seven months were up 0.64 per cent, surpassing the 5.8Mt mark.

Argentina cement sales slip 1.8% YoY

Argentina's cement deliveries fell 2.5 per cent MoM from 919,866t in May and 1.8 per cent YoY from 913,101t in June 2013 to 896,860t, according to the latest data from the country's cement association AFCP.  Exports reached 14,637t in June, up 57 per cent from 9336t the previous month, but down 19 per cent from 18,030t noted in June 2013. Between January and May 2014, Peru’s cement market expanded by 0.51 per cent YoY to 4,129,906t, according to the latest figures from the domestic cement association, Asocem. Production rose by 0.95 per cent YoY to 4,231,221t in the first five months of the year, from 4,191,295Mt in the same period a year ago. Exports jumped from 81,356t to 95,716t, up 17.65 per cent during Jan-May.
