Bangladesh government has set an export target of US$14m for cement industry for the financial year 2018-19 (June-July) against US$12.59m from last fiscal year. The target is based on an expected growth of 11.20 per cent. Pakistan cement industry's FY19 started positively in terms of exports with rises in the first month July 2018. According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan's cement industry earned foreign exchange revenue of US$20.96m by exporting 475,134t of cement last month compared to US$16.31m on 369,506t of cement. Botswana to restrict cement imports

The Botswana Government will restrict cement imports from September 2018. According to the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Bogolo Kenewendo, the step is part of the process aimed at stimulating economic activity and job creation.  "The proposed restrictions would be done through the issuance of import permit after the importer has submitted evidence that indeed they have satisfied the 70 per cent requirement," Mr Kenewendo said.
