The June 1998 issue presents global cement-industry news and technical analysis. Greece’s TITAN CEMENT said its consoli- dated pretax profit after minorities rose 25.4 per cent to Dr3.55 billion (US$11.76m) in the first quarter on turnover growth of 16.7 per cent to Dr 31.85 billion (US$105.5m). Parent company pretax earnings increased 22.8 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter to Dr3.84 billion (US$12.72m) on turnover growth of 8.9 per cent to Dr21.42 billion, (US$71m) the company reported.
