Following the firm's report earlier this month on its modernisation project at Devnya Cement, Bulgaria, Italcementi now offers an update on its progress at its Rezzato plant in Italy. Italcementi is Italy’s leading building materials company and largest cement producer with a 30 per cent share of the domestic market.

With Italian cement consumption having experienced a dramatic collapse in recent years, Italcementi is rationalising its domestic industrial network and concentrating production at six core plants to maintain its market share.

The revamping of the Rezzato plant is the lynchpin of Italcementi strategy in northeastern Italy and involves the replacement of two semi-dry grey clinker lines with a new 3000tpd dry-process kiln.
