As environmental regulations are tightened and pollution control equipment is required to function at higher efficiencies, baghouse performance and maintenance is becoming increasingly important. The operational efficiency of baghouse dust collection systems can be improved by integrating all dust collection system controls. By Vahid Mirsaiidi, FilterSense, USA.

At a time when plant managers are looking to lower operating costs  and maintenance managers are trying to ensure process operation is not compromised, one area where cement plants can easily increase efficiency is pulse-jet baghouse dust collector controls. Many baghouses use older or less-advanced controls and carry out little monitoring to meet today’s stringent EPA regulations and production demands.
