The production of a consistent cement quality is key in manufacturing a high-quality concrete. At Adelaide Brighton Cement’s Birkenhead works, Australia, quality control starts at the raw material stage. To analyse and control the raw mix, the cement producer has installed a Geoscan raw mix control system.

Adelaide Brighton Cement Ltd (ABC) is a leading Australian construction materials company with operations in all mainland states and territories of Australia. The company’s largest clinker plant is located in Birkenhead, South Australia. The works produces clinker in a separate string precalciner kiln, with the kiln waste gases being used to dry the raw materials that are milled in two vertical roller mills. The clinker and cement produced at the plant are directed to markets in Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane.
