Prior to the commissioning of its 11,500tpd cement works in Turkey mid-last year, Medcem Cement completed a new port facility to support its export business and help deliver key raw materials and fuel such as coal to the plant. State-of-the-art storage and handling technology ensures efficient, high-capacity loading operations at the terminal, all with environmental awareness in mind. By Medcem Cement, Turkey.

Medcem Cement’s port facility was commissioned in April 2015

Part of Eren Holding, Medcem’s greenfield cement plant entered service in July 2015. With a capacity of 11,500tpd it is not only the largest cement factory in Turkey but also in Europe (see ICR October 2015). More than 4.5Mta of product is manufactured at the facility and supplied to customers via a network of grinding plants and terminals in several countries. The company’s main export markets are in Africa, the Gulf region, the USA, Europe and Latin America.
