Sustainability needs innovative thinking and determination, PPC can attest. Producing cement requires large amounts of energy and for decades the main source of that energy has been coal. However, the company’s energy policy calls for a steady replacement of coal with alternative fuels (AFs) and has led the company to implement the necessary changes to its De Hoek plant.
