Limit MgO in Limestone filler

Dear all,

Our plant is using limestone as filler in cement but the MgO in limestone source is very high (3-5%). I don't know with that amount of MgO, Does it effect to cement quality like it was in raw meal or not. Do we really need to limit this element in the filler materials?

If you have any experience with that, thanks for your sharing.

Best regards,

Tam Nguyen

Re: Limit MgO in Limestone filler

Limestone filler having high MgO will not have any effect on soundness or expansion in cement concrete.Limestone filler  mixed in cement  as mineral admixture The filler has inert material and it will reduce porosity of concrete, which have positive effect on  cement concrete.
