Clinker High Liter Weight and High Free Lime

Our kiln is normally produce clinker of minmum liter weight of 1350 up to 1400 and free lime ~ 1 % if We tried to decrease liter weight to 1250 gm/lt  free lime get more than 2% .

Any one could help for diagnosis of this phenomena .

Re: Clinker High Liter Weight and High Free Lime

That is exactly what you would expect to happen.

Re: Clinker High Liter Weight and High Free Lime

hi

If it does not happen we can diagonise( just kidding).

When you reduce the liter weight you would have reduced the burning zone temperature or increase the kiln speed. This will reduce the rate of reaction betwenn Di calcium silicate (C2S)  and lime to form Tricalcium silicate(C3S). Hence, the unreacted lime content has increased from the 1% to 2% due to the lesser residense time and lesser rate of reaction ( as per Arhenius equation)

Re: Clinker High Liter Weight and High Free Lime

Hey...

Let me repeat what i think mr. mb14 want to ask, " We are producing clinker with very high liter weight (1400 gr/lt) which make the grindability of this clinker very difficult in the cement mill, so how can we reduce this high liter weight without effecting or increasing the F.CaO in the clinker?"
