Cement strength was dropped after a few days storage

Dear all

I'm facing with the problem of cement quality. Normally, we are testing on the fresh daily composite sample of the day before, 5-6 days later, we retest again on that sample but early strength (3, 7Dday) was lower than the first time 3-5 MPa. This problem I've just met since Nov-2008. Until now I don't really knw what is the root cause.

If you have some experience related to this issue, I'm happy to recieve your sharing.

The first question must be the testing procedure. Presumably the cement is not still hot when it is first tested? How is the sample stored for the intervening 5-6 days? Is there any possibility of atmospheric deterioration?

dear,

we have also faced the similar problem.

we found that by using chemical gypsum it is happening due to some acidic cherecter of chemical gypsum. now we have switch over to mineral gypsum.
