This is achieved by stoichiometric calculation of the combustion product gases from the combustion of the fuel, therefore reliant on the ultimate analysis of the fuels fired. To this must be added the water from drying and the CO2 from calcination. The excess air must be allowed for. This gives a mass of preheater exhaust gases. The volume is then calculated using the Ideal Gas Laws. Mass divided by volume equals density.
