The residual moisture content of pulverized coal/petcoke

Dear all,

According to literature a certain amount of moisture content should be remained after drying and grinding the coal in order to get a proper ignition of fuel.

Does anybody know the optimum range for petcoke?

For example, in our cement plant the residual moisture content is around 0,3-0,5%. Which seems to be very low.

Best wishes,

Firat

Dear Firat,

Around 1-2% moisture should be adequate for proper ignition
