LSF

Dear Experts,

I have a small question that in raw  meal LSF is 90-92 while LSF in Clinker is comming around 92-94. im using HFO  as fuel. How LSF in clinker is comming heighr than raw meal.

Regards,

Sheikh

Re: LSF

Dear Sheikh, You have to take into consideration of the quality of the dust recirculated. If the quality in terms of LSF is higher than that of your normal kiln feed, then there is every likelihood that the LSF of your clinker will be slightly higher compared to your Kiln feed.

Re: LSF

Dear sir,

but the recirculation dust is going back to homo silo and its LSF is really low at 75-78 %.

Re: LSF

It is a simple mass balance. Inputs = outputs

Input: kiln feed

Outputs clinker and prehgeater dust

If preheater dust has LSF lower than kiln feed, than clinker must have LSF higher than kiln feed.

Other typical explanation is sampling error of the raw meal. It is very difficult to get a proper sample of raw meal without some segregation. Samplers are usually neglected in cement plants. Manual samples are terrible and screw samplers are not very good either. But these are unfortunately the most frequent methods you see in the industry.
