clinker cooler

Dear all

we have modified our clinker cooler's Ist grarte with omega plates,these plates frequently dislodged  and results in stoppage of kiln, this phenomina happens more at the time of kiln start after a short  stoppage.Do u having experience with Omega plates(KHD desgn) please share

Are these plates stationary or moveable? If movable then better to keep little higher air flows in that area and lower bed height in the begining of the kiln startup as in the begining due to very high temperature, clinker has the stickey tendency and difficult to push. So dont try to maintain normal bed height in the begining. once the kiln feed rate approaches normal return to the normal operating set points.

Thanks Mr. Dogra,

Mainly the movavle plates dislodges and we feel that ,these are due to lifting of plates due to clinlercomming between fix and movable plates and there is no positive locking of plates with bolts.bed height we maintain less than normal.
