DEGREE OF CALCINATION CAN BE CALCULATED AS ((100-c5 LOI)×KF LOI)/(100-KF LOI)×C5 LOI))-1×100 IN INDIA WE DO CALCINATION AS (KF LOI- C5 LOI)/ KF LOI

DoC = B/AX1 where B = preheater exit gas from KF, A= Kilnfeed in tons, X1= kilnfeed LOI in decimal.

Preheater matl balance: A= B + C or B= A-C WHERE C= kiln inlet hotmeal.

LOI - FREE  MATL BALANCE:  A(1-X1) = C(1-X2) OR C/A= (1-X1)/(1-X2) WHERE X2 = kiln inlet hotmeal LOI in decimal.

SUBSTITUTING AND SIMPLIFYING;

DoC = B/AX1=( A-C)/AX1 = (A/AX1) - (C/AX1) =( 1/X1) - ((1-X1)/(1-X2))(1/X1)

Degree of Calcination = (X1-X2)/((X1-(X1)(X2)) (100)
