Preheater coating issue

Dear Sir,

Ours is an IHI designed 5 stage preheater kiln system of 2000 TPD capacity. Since last month we are experiencing a very unssual phenomenon where material accummulation and then sliding is taking place in our cyclone 4 inlet. stages are counted from top to bottom. It is causing sometimes surges in our kiln and sometimes cyclone cone blockages. There is no change in the internals. Quality control is also telling that their material is ok. Sharing your experience may help us to overcome this problem. Kindly find the pics attached showing the design and accummulation.

Surprisingly our buildup problem in this solved after stopping our kiln bypass system which was in operation earlier.

re Preheater coating issue

Dear ,

No relation coating formation to preheater cyclone  material surging.

Due to material surging from cyclone feed pipe kiln distrube . which is control by kiln speed & cooler operation .

Material distribution profile may improve by adjusting  dispersion plate & air lancing frquency on feed box.

By adjusting counter wt of flape .& taking stage wise lOI.

Attached your temp vs pressure profile  for same time may help.

       With regards.

       gks

Preheater coating issue

Dear Sir,

The problem has been solved after stopping the kiln gas bypass system. But the relation between build up at the cyclone 4 inlet and bypass stoppage is still intriguing. No reason found till now.
