Peruvian cement dispatches rise

Cement dispatches in the Peruvian market totalled 7.51Mt between January and November 2011, 1.68% up compared to the figure registered in the same period of 2010, when they totalled 7.38Mt, said the Asociación de Productores de Cemento (Asocem) today.

During that period the cement production was 7.69Mt, representing an increase of 1.95% over the same period of 2010, when it was 7.55Mt.

In the first 11 months of the year, exports reached 57,698t of cement, reporting an increase of 381.62% the same period in 2010, when they were of 11,980t.

In this sense, total cement shipments (domestic market plus exports) between January and November totaled 7.566Mt, a figure that shows an increase of 2.29% over the same period of 2010, when they totaled 7.396Mt.
