Ethiopia to launch Cement Technology Institute
The Ethiopian Ministry of Industry has approved of plans to establish a Cement Technology Institute in Ethiopia.
The institute, proposed by Mugher Cement factory, will be engaged in training personnel for the sector. The demand for trained professionals by new cement factories, is expected to increase job mobility in the industry said Mekonnen Zergaw, CEO of Mugher. Mugher but could lose the few trained professionals it has to new competitors he said.
The training institute will be located at Mugher Cement headquarter in Oromia Regional State, where a building will be adapted to the needs of the centre including laboratory equipment and teaching materials explained Mekonnen.
The Ministry of education endorsed the draft organised by experts at Mugher on the standards and expertise required to train professionals in the cement sector.
