Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, Mehdi Ghazanfari, said that cement output increased 9.6 per cent in the first eight months of the current Iranian year. Cement production reached 96.5Mt while output reached 5.2Mt in the past calendar month.

Mr Ghazanfari noted that the country’s cement capacity was 74Mt, adding that this figure would reach 11Mt by the end of the Fifth Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2010-15).
