Australia: Holcim in land deal
01 December 2011

A private logistics operator has purchased a large parcel of industrial land in the north of Brisbane from Holcim. The group acquired a block of land at Swanbank (in Queenland’s southeast) from Investa property Group for US$20m just over two months ago.

Holcim purchased cement firm Cemex Australia in 2009. Holcim has won substantial contracts such as supplying cement for the Gorgon liquefied natural gas project in Western Australia. Holcim was advised by Steve Denys from Desyn Property on the disposal of the parcel of land at 59 Sugarmill Road, Pinkenba. Graham Norris (formerly of Savills) negotiated the deal. Mr Norris currently heads the state’s Ray White Industrial.
