Seven Circle Bangladesh Ltd, exports about 800,000 bags of cement per year and contributes to country’s foreign exchange reserve by earning large amounts of foreign currencies, Managing Director (MD) of the company Mohammed Ali Palash told the Financial Express (FE).

The company also meets 12 per cent of domestic demand of cement which helped it occupy the fourth position among cement manufacturing companies in the country.

The MD unveiled company’s prospects and future plan to the FE in an exclusive interview on Saturday at his office.

"We are paying custom duty on our raw materials, and paying VAT and tax worth Tk 1.37 billion which is a great financial support to our national development."

He said, "since 2008 we are exporting our Seven Rings Cement in 50-kg WPP Bags to different states of India as one of their authorised exporters. Yearly we export about 800,000 bags. We will be able to allocate more quantity for export after starting production in our new lines. At present we are giving priority to our local buyers."

"We are consistently maintaining the quality of our product and we don’t compromise with quality even if our production cost goes high," Mr. Palash said.

He said, "we have set up a well-equipped laboratory with mostly European testing equipment inside our plant to test cement on every hourly basis. Besides testing in our laboratory we also test our cement in BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology) once in every 15 days.
