Tension prevailed for some time at Pudi village of Rambilli coastal village, in the state of Andhra Pradesh (AP), when hundreds of people including villagers, environmentalists and politicians of several opposition parties opposed the proposed production unit of calcium aluminate cement (CAC) of Kerneos India Aluminate Technologies Private Limited in the district.

Kerneos, with an investment of around INR90 crore, has reportedly received an industrial licence from the Secretariat of Industrial Assistance from the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Government of India, for setting up the project in the coastal village to produce nearly 30,000tpa of cement.
