South Africa September sales see 12.7% YoY increases

Recent data from the Cement and Concrete Institute of South Africa shows that sales for September 2011 totaled 1.1Mt compared to 0.98Mt in 2010, up 12.7% – the highest growth experienced in the industry since April 2007, when the domestic sales grew by 17.7% YoY. On a pure volume basis, September sales were the highest since October 2008, when they peaked at 1,295,083t.

Year to-date sales stand at 8.29Mt, up 2.1 per cent YoY from 8.12Mt from the same period of 2010.

The moving annual total (12 months to September 2011) reached 11.04Mt against 11.02Mt, representing a slight YoY advance of 0.2 per cent.
