Ceylon Cement Corp earns LKR5.7m profit
05 October 2011

The Ceylon Cement Corporation earned a profit of LKR5.7m at 31 July 2011, compared with LKR5m during the same period last year. "Our target is a profit of LKR10m in 2012," chairman Sisira Paranagama said. "The Cement Corporation had to pay LKR160m to former employees and in loans," he added.

However, he was optimistic for next year when contracts including the construction of a 25-storey building in Kollupitiya and repairs to the towers of the Ceylon Electricity Board and Sri Lanka Telecom, are expected to make for healthier profits.
