Dangote Cement will start production at its Ibese plant in southwestern Nigeria this month, Chief Executive Officer Devakumar Edwin said.

The company will add an additional production line at its Obajana plant in central Nigeria in the fourth quarter, Edwin said.

“By the end of the first quarter of next year, both plants will be operating at 90 per cent of capacity,” Edwin said.

Obajana will have the capacity to produce 5Mt of cement, while Ibese has a capacity for 6Mt, he said. Obajana previously had a capacity of 3Mt.
