05 September 2011

Egypt’s Industrial Development Authority [IDA] is set to partner with the private sector in the construction of a 1.5Mta cement plant in Matrouh governorate on the north coast, worth LE1.5bn (US$252m).

The IDA’s intent to partner up with private investors follows a government decision to allow the private sector to hold a greater stake in strategic national industries, according to the IDA Chairman Ismail Nagdy.
