Pakistan monthly export volumes rise
26 August 2011

Data from Pakistan’s Federal Bureau of Statistics shows that in the first month of the current fiscal year (July 2011) Pakistan exported 706,936t of cement, earning US$39.072m compared to 673,400t at US$39.249m in June 2011. On a month-on-month basis, this reflects growth of 4.98 per cent in terms of quantity but a 0.45 per cent reduction in value.

Similarly, compared with July 2010 data, (918,579t at US$41.621m) volumes were down 23.04 per cent and the value fell 6.12 per cent.

Pakistan’s main export destinations include Afghanistan, India, Middle East and some African countries. However, industry experts hope that during the current financial year exports will rise by around four per cent YoY as dispatches to South Africa, Tanzania, Sri Lanka and Iran are increased.
