Gresik plans 0.6Mta Papua factory, Indonesia

Indonesian cement producer, PT Semen Gresik, plans to build a new factory in Papua with an investment of US$150m. Dwi Soetjipto, the president of the state company, said the factory would have a production capacity of 600,000tpa.

The factory will help cope with problem in cement supply to the country’s easternmost region, Mr. Soetjipto said

Implementation of the project could be made earlier if the government provides supporting facilities such as road infrastructure, he said giving no further details.
