Vietnam’s cement sales stood at 1.1Mt in the first half of this month, rising 45% from the same period of July, the Price Management Department under the Finance Ministry said.

The recovery of construction demand after several quiet months were mainly attributed to the increasing, the Thoi bao kinh te newspaper quoted the department as saying Thursday.

The country’s cement production in the first two weeks of August rose 3% on-month to 543,000t, the department said.

Meanwhile in the first half of July, the country’s production and consumption fell 24% and 8% from the same period June to 527,000t and 630,000t, respectively, due to the government’s Resolution No.11 to cut public investments.
