Iran cement production up 19%

Iran’s cement production has reached 23.41Mt in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21), new figures show.

According to a report published by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), the new data show a 19 per cent growth in Iran’s cement output compared to corresponding figures last year, Mehr news agency reported. 

The report added that Iranian companies produced 6.37Mt of cement in Tir (4th month in solar calendar, June 22 - July 22). 



Mohammad Hassan Pourkhalil, the secretary of the Cement Industry Contractors Union, also said that Iran exported 940,000t of cement during this month. 



Pourkhalil noted that Iran’s exports of cement and clinker surpassed 3.4Mt during March 21 and July 22, showing a 14 per cent growth compared with the same period last year. 



Last month, Iran launched two new cement factories in the provinces of West Azarbaijan and Golestan.
