Siam City Cement targets green products contributing 40 per cent of revenue by 2014.

Last year sales of environmentally-friendly products accounted for 32 per cent of the company’s revenue of THB21bn.

Managing director Philippe Arto said yesterday that the company had set a strategy to develop green building materials over the coming decade.

The company also aims to cut carbon-dioxide emissions from the production process by 12 per cent compared with 2007, he told a seminar on "The New Dimension of Green Architecture in Thailand".

The company targets increasing revenue by 10 per cent this year.

Chantana Sukumanont, executive vice president, said the company planned to launch green products every year to support its marketing policy to build awareness among developers and end-users about the long-term benefits of using environmentally friendly products in construction.
