Indocement Tunggal Prakasa , Indonesia’s biggest cement maker by market value, said on Thursday that its second quarter net profit edged up 0.7 per cent, weighed by rising costs.

The firm, controlled by HeidelbergCement, posted IDR860bn (US$101.3m) in net profit in the second quarter, versus IDR854bn in the same period last year, based on Reuters calculations from published first half profits.

Domestic cement sales rose 14.8 per cent in the first half of the year, according to the country’s cement association.
